Placing an Order
Can I add to an order after it has been placed?
No, not if an order has been placed, confirmed and acknowledged. The simplest solution is to place another order.
Are my contact and payment details secure?
Our website is hosted on a certified secure server so all information
passing backwards and forwards is encrypted to the highest level and is
therefore inaccessible to hackers.
When you pay via PayPal, the transaction is handled on PayPal's secure servers. We do not see any of your card details so they are entirely confidential.
I don't want to pay online with a credit card, can I telephone the card details through?
No, we cannot accept card payments by phone. But you can use your card via PayPal and their systems are very secure. Alternatively, we can take card payments if your details are submitted via our online form but we add a small surcharge for this.
Can I pay by cheque?
We normally take payment online through the PayPal system but if you would prefer to pay by cheque or BACS, please select this option on the order form. Payments will need to clear before goods are shipped, so your order may take longer to reach you.
Can you accept cheques in a foreign currency?
No, we can only accept cheques in Pound Sterling drawn on a British bank.
Can I pay by bank transfer (BACS)?
If you wish to pay by BACS, select the 'bank transfer' option on the order form. Our bank details will be sent to you on your acknowledgement email.
If I choose to pay by cheque will you hold the goods for me?
In these circumstances, items are reserved for 30 days. After this time, if payment has not been received, the order will be cancelled.
How long before my order is despatched?
Orders are processed as soon as we have received your payment. The
goods are generally despatched on the next working day so you should receive your
goods two or three days later.
Orders placed over the weekend or during a public holiday will processed on the next working day but see the note below.
Will there be any other delays?
As a small family-run business, we do take holidays and occasional long weekends but our system sends email messages to our mobile phones so we will contact you if a delay is unavoidable. If applicable, any forthcoming dates when we will not be available to process orders are published on the order form.

What if I am not based in the UK?
International delivery charges are horrendously expensive so we only deliver to the UK. This covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and includes our offshore islands. If you live outside the UK you can place an order if it can be delivered to an address in the UK.
Who will deliver my parcel?
We use Royal Mail 2nd class for most of our deliveries. For larger consignments we use MyHermes door-to-door service.
